Company Overview:
Weâre hiring on behalf of a US-based digital agency that partners with well-known universities and institutions across North America. The agency specializes in higher education marketing, digital strategy, and web development. Their work supports mission-driven institutions â helping them communicate better, improve user experience, and modernize their digital platforms.
This role is part of a long-standing relationship with a major North American university. The Drupal site youâll be supporting is live and actively used by faculty, students, and staff. The client is currently undergoing a rebranding initiative, and your role will focus on implementing those visual updates, improving the siteâs backend structure, and collaborating on cleanup tasks that will enable a smooth migration to WordPress later in the year.
Project Scope
This is a ~9-month fixed-term contract, scoped at around 10 hours per week, with more hours expected in the early stages of the project. Youâll be the primary Drupal developer, working directly with the agencyâs internal team (project manager, SEO specialist, designers), and your contributions will be key to the success of the transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement styling and layout updates using HTML, CSS, and Twig
- Clean up templates and content structure for better usability and maintenance
- Refactor backend elements using Drupalâs MVC architecture (routing, controllers, theming)
- Collaborate with an SEO team to apply redirects, improve metadata, and simplify URL structures
- Provide stability and support through the final stages of the project
You Bring:
- Solid experience developing in Drupal, ideally on live or high-traffic sites
- Deep understanding of Drupalâs architecture (MVC)
- Proficient in PHP, HTML, CSS, and Twig
- Familiar with SEO fundamentals (redirects, metadata, URLs)
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage your time independently
Bonus Points:
- Experience preparing Drupal sites for CMS migration
- Prior work with higher education or institutional clients
- Comfortable working with content, design, and SEO teams
Whatâs Offered:
- đ Part-time, steady hours â ~10 hours/week
