About Our Client
Join our service-based company as our Chief Information Officer and lead the technology transformation of a dynamic, internationally expanding legal practice. As our CIO, you'll architect and execute cutting-edge technology strategies that directly impact business growth, spearhead AI-driven solutions, and build world-class IT infrastructure across international markets. Reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating with other executives, you'll have the authority and visibility to drive meaningful change across the organization. You'll collaborate with innovative software development teams on groundbreaking custom solutions while establishing security and compliance frameworks that set industry standards.

What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute comprehensive IT strategy aligned with firm-wide business objectives and growth plans
- Define and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for all technology initiatives
- Lead technology transformation initiatives with primary focus on security enhancement and compliance strengthening
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify technology opportunities that drive competitive advantage
- Establish technology governance frameworks and policies across all office locations
- Define and implement IT organizational structure and staffing strategy to support business needs
Operations Management
- Oversee video, voice, and SMS contact center solutions supporting the firm's sales and client engagement operations
- Manage legal industry CRM systems, document management platforms, and related business-critical applications
- Implement and maintain single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) systems across all platforms
- Oversee device management and security for 1,000+ endpoints across all office locations
- Define and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) for all technology services and infrastructure
- Ensure seamless connectivity and system integration between offices in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico City, and Cancun
- Implement robust technical infrastructure coordination across international locations
- Manage IT budget, vendor relationships, and technology procurement processes
- Develop and maintain business continuity plans ensuring operational resilience across all offices
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor existing IT organization spanning multiple countries with mixed centralized and local support models
- Develop strategic hiring plans and expand team capabilities as needed to support business growth
- Collaborate with external software development partners on project timelines for custom AI solutions and business transformation initiatives
- Assist with technical integrations of custom software solutions across firm operations
- Foster collaboration between IT and all practice areas to optimize technology adoption
- Establish clear communication channels and project management processes for cross-border initiatives
Compliance & Risk Management
- Implement and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity protocols with emphasis on sensitive information handling
- Ensure compliance with data residency requirements across Mexico and United States jurisdictions
- Oversee HIPAA compliance protocols for healthcare-related legal matters and client data
- Develop data governance frameworks addressing cross-border regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular security assessments and implement necessary improvements to strengthen overall IT posture
Is This You?
- Minimum 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably in professional services or legal industry
- Proven track record managing technology operations across multiple geographic locations
- Experience leading large-scale digital transformation projects
- Deep understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and network management
- Experience with legal technology platforms, case management systems, and document management solutions
- Knowledge of data analytics, business intelligence, and emerging technologies
- Familiarity with cross-border technology compliance requirements
- Fluency in both Spanish and English required - must be able to communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders in both languages
- Must be able to travel periodically to all office locations in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico City, and Cancun
- Strong executive presence with ability to make quick, decisive decisions in fast-paced environments
- Proven ability to negotiate priorities and manage competing technology initiatives across all departments
- Excellent project management and change management capabilities
- Experience managing remote and distributed teams across different time zones
- Understanding of legal industry technology trends and best practices
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements for healthcare-related legal matters
- Knowledge of attorney-client privilege and confidentiality requirements in technology contexts
- Familiarity with international data transfer regulations and privacy laws
- Previous experience in international law firms or professional services organizations
- Certifications in relevant technologies (CISSP, CISM, cloud platforms)
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, or office expansion projects
- Background in vendor management and contract negotiation
- Knowledge of legal billing and financial management systems

Location
Position can be based in any of our major office locations in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico City, or Cancun, with regular travel required between offices. Remote work flexibility available with expectation of significant on-site presence for team leadership and client engagement.
